The amount of money a car owner will receive for their scrap vehicle will be determined by:
1. market value of metal (bulk weight per tonne at current market value vs components resale value.)
2. vehicle’s condition (whether the vehicle is operable or not),
3. vehicle’s model, make, year.
1. removing licence plates from both the front and back of the vehicle
2. valuable or personal items from the door pockets, glove compartment, arm rest, cup holders, beneath the seats, and in between the seats
3. garbages
Give the buyer the completed and signed Application for Transfer found on the back of the “vehicle component” of the permit (registration), write the buyer’s name and address, note the mileage, and sign the form. Keep the component of the ownership that pertains to the “plate” for your own use. With the help of Service Ontario, the scrapyard will be able to transfer ownership of the vehicle.
