Since scrapping your vehicle is regarded as a sale, it is important to know how the overall processes of changing ownership works, particularly in Ontario.
Give the buyer the completed and signed Application for Transfer found on the back of the “vehicle component” of the permit (registration), write the buyer’s name and address, note the mileage, and sign the form. Keep the component of the ownership that pertains to the “plate” for your own use.
With the help of Service Ontario, the scrapyard will be able to transfer ownership of the vehicle.
